A LOOK AT THE EASTERN STATES EXPOSITION FAIRGROUNDS SPEEDWAY

The Eastern States Fairground 1/2 Mile Track closed in 1969 after putting on some of the best racing in the Northeast. The Fairgrounds track will be one of the subjects, along with the Waterford Speedbowl, at this years NEAR Movie Party Saturday Night November 8th starting a 7:00 P.M. Tickets for this Popular Annual Event are $20.00 and can be purchased at the door.  The Movie Party will again be at the Dante Club on Memorial Blvd. in West Springfield, Mass. across the street from the BIG E Fairgrounds. Many former drivers are expected to be in attendance including Bob Potter, Dick Watson, Jap Membrino, Moon Burgess, Ron Wyckoff, Don Moon, Elton Hill, Bobby Knox and more committing everyday.  A good time to get an autograph from one of the "Heroes of the Past". Johnny Lobo brought home a checkered in one of the heats behind the wheel of the Walt Kuryn 00 made famous by Tony "Jap" Membrino. This was Lobo's only appearance in the 00.
